In 2001, I decided to challenge my friends to help me fill the Little Free Libraries of Northeastern Wisconsin. My goal was to seed at least fifty books (hence the Nifty Fifty Book Drive)written by diverse authors about diverse topics and with the intense selection that representation matters. I asked folks who were buying books to choose to purchase from independent bookstores, and I also included a wishlist of suggested books from my local independent, woman-owned bookstore, The Lion’s Mouth Bookstore.
What happened next was amazing.
So far, we’ve seeded almost a hundred books. I generally have a full bag in my car for when I happen to spot an empty LFL on my travels. I’m tracking the books here, but this is by no means the complete list.
